Expressive Volcanic White from Karamolegos

Pyritis Assyrtiko – Expressive Volcanic White from Karamolegos
Drink now or cellar up to 10 years. Decanting may enhance the experience. The Karamolegos Winery, founded in 1952 in Exo Gonia, Santorini, has been revitalized by the founder’s grandson since 2004. Their dedication to century-old vineyards and carefully selected grape suppliers ensures a genuine expression of the terroir.
This wine is 100% Assyrtiko, sourced from ungrafted vines over 100 years old, cultivated in the vineyards of Pyrgos and Megalochori. Fermentation occurs at controlled temperatures with neutral yeasts to preserve the grape’s varietal character and the volcanic terroir’s unique influence. The wine then matures on its lees for 10 months.
Pyritis displays a bright color and a complex aromatic profile featuring mineral and flint notes typical of Assyrtiko, balanced with fruity aromas. On the palate, it is savory and crisp, with rich fruit concentration, elegance, freshness, and a lasting mineral finish.
Food-friendly and versatile, this wine pairs excellently with various fish dishes and white meats.

Santorini White Blend – A Delicate Mix by Artemis Karamolegos
Ready to drink now, no decanting necessary. Since its establishment in 1952, Artemis Karamolegos winery has been crafting wines from indigenous Santorini grapes such as Assyrtiko, Aidani, Athiri, and Mavrotragano.
This blend is composed of 90% Assyrtiko with 10% Athiri and Aidani. Grapes come from old vineyards across the island including Pyrgos, Exo Gonia, and Megalochori, with smaller contributions from Akrotiri, Emporio, and Fira. After harvest, each variety undergoes cold maceration and separate fermentation in steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The final blend is decided by vintage characteristics and matures on lees for at least 5 months.
The wine features a refined and complex aromatic profile with notes of stone fruit, citrus, minerals, jasmine, and herbaceous florals typical of Athiri and Aidani. It is fresh, lively, yet dense and elegant, finishing with persistent fruit intensity.
An ideal companion for dishes such as fish carpaccio, shrimp, octopus, squid, and Greek vegetarian specialties.
