Classic Spanish Tempranillo from Bodegas Artuke

Paso Las Manas – Classic Spanish Tempranillo from Bodegas Artuke
Cellar for up to 20 years. Decant for an hour or more before serving. Paso Las Manas is a quintessential Spanish red, rich with aromas of red and black fruits, cigar smoke, dried herbs, and warm mulled wine spices.
Made from 100% Tempranillo grapes harvested by hand from a rocky 3.9-hectare vineyard at 730 metres altitude—one of the most extreme sites in the region. Bodegas Artuke was established in 1991 by Roberto de Miguel, located between Baños de Ebro and Ábalos in Rioja. The winery’s name combines those of his sons, Arturo and Kike, who now run the estate and have revitalized many previously abandoned vineyards.
The wine shows a stunning reddish-purple color in the glass. Flavors envelop the palate with blackberry, plum, and raspberry jam alongside stony minerality, cinnamon, and star anise undertones. Medium-bodied and fresh, it features finely grained tannins and balanced acidity.
This wine pairs beautifully with roast chicken, pork dishes, or tuna steak.

Bodegas Arzuaga Crianza – Elegant Tempranillo Blend
Cellar for up to 10 years. Best served slightly chilled at 16°C after decanting for up to an hour. This full-bodied blend consists of 90% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo), 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 3% Merlot from La Maquinilla vineyard on the Arzuaga family’s Finca La Planta estate.
Located at 911 meters above sea level, La Maquinilla’s clay-limestone soils yield small quantities of grapes, producing a dark cherry red wine with deep indigo reflections.
The nose reveals bright and clean fruit aromas reminiscent of ripe strawberries, blackberries, and black cherries, with floral and balsamic notes. On the palate, concentrated black fruit mingles with hints of spice and fine wood, balanced by velvety tannins and a round texture.
Aged 16 months in new French and American oak barrels, it finishes long and elegant with toasted wood and caramelized undertones. Perfect with roasted big game, poultry, grilled red meats, lamb, stews, cold cuts, hard cheeses, dark chocolate, and berries.

Arzuaga Reserva – Refined Blend with Intense Aromatics
Cellar up to 20 years. Decant no more than 1 hour. Reserva wines are specially aged, and this blend combines 95% Tinto Fino, 3% Merlot, and 2% Albillo, with an alcohol content of 14.5%.
The bright ruby red wine shows elegant violet reflections. Aromas of red fruit compote and forest floor lead the bouquet, accompanied by subtle smoked wood and balsam notes.
On the palate, this Reserva is complex, elegant, and well-structured, with smooth sweet tannins. Flavors of wild red fruits and black berries evolve into a silky finish with ripe strawberries, toasted spices, and smoked cedar in the aftertaste.
The grapes come from the Arzuaga family’s La Maquinilla estate (20%) and vineyards in Burgos province (80%) with vines over 80 years old. Crafted from 20 vineyard plots, it was aged 26 months in new French oak barrels.

Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro Reserva Especial – Concentrated Ribera del Duero Red
Cellar for up to 20 years. Decant for 2 hours before serving. This exquisite Reserva Especial is made from carefully selected grapes grown in century-old Tinta del Pais and Albillo vines on limestone and clay soils in Ribera del Duero.
The estate prioritizes hand harvesting to ensure optimal grape condition. Fermentation occurs in barrels followed by 24 months of aging in new French oak, adding layers of complexity and smooth character.
Aromas of leather, dark chocolate, and plum jam open the bouquet. On the palate, ripe red berries, sweet spices, and toasted nuts unfold in a full-bodied, smooth wine with firm structure.
A superb match for rich meat stews, hard cheeses, and earthy game dishes.
