Tenuta Guado al Tasso – Prestigious Super Tuscan from the Antinori Family

The Antinori family, with a winemaking heritage dating back over 26 generations to 1385, owns the Tenuta Guado al Tasso estate in the esteemed Bolgheri DOC on Tuscany’s coast. This location benefits from a mild climate influenced by cooling sea breezes, while the well-draining alluvial soils force vines to root deeply, producing complex and intense grapes.

Situated at the foot of the Bolgheri Amphitheatre—a natural plain embraced by rolling hills—the vineyards enjoy a unique microclimate promoting slow ripening and depth of flavor.

This elegant Super Tuscan blend consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and a small portion of Petit Verdot. It is aged for a year in small oak barrels before blending, followed by an additional six months of barrel aging.

The result is a rich, full-bodied wine with powerful aromas of tobacco, coffee beans, ripe dark berries, and bittersweet chocolate, reflecting the careful craftsmanship and prestigious terroir.

Cont’Ugo Merlot – Powerful and Refined Red from Antinori’s Bolgheri Estate

The Antinori family, globally renowned for their Super Tuscan wines, produce Cont’Ugo at the Guado al Tasso estate located in the scenic Bolgheri region near the coast.

The vineyards are planted on clay loam soils at 45-60 meters elevation, which help maintain freshness, aromatic complexity, and rich fruit character. Merlot grapes are harvested by hand and undergo fermentation in stainless steel tanks before aging in oak barrels.

After blending, the wine returns to barrels for 12 months of maturation followed by three months in bottle, yielding a wine that is both robust and elegant.

It features luscious dark fruit flavors, smooth tannins, and a long finish with hints of spice, woodsmoke, and peat, making it a perfect choice for those who appreciate depth and refinement.
