Red California Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon

Red California Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 wine
This bold Cabernet Sauvignon was created by winemaker Austin Hope, known for his powerful style. The Hope family, who started making wine in 1995 after being farmers and grape growers, are highly respected for their red wines. This wine comes from top vineyards in Paso Robles, known for its unique terroir of hills, warm days, cool breezes, and ancient sea bed soils.
Made with care, including separate fermentation and aging in French oak, this wine strikes a perfect balance of ripe fruit, freshness, and complexity. Aromas of cassis, blackberry, and dark cherry greet you, with hints of leather, tobacco, and woodsmoke. The first sip reveals a full-bodied wine with smooth tannins and a lingering finish, showing off its high quality that exceeds its price.

Red California Dry Creek Heritage Zinfandel 2021 wine
Dry Creek Vineyard, founded in 1972 by David S. Stare, was the first winery in Dry Creek Valley post-Prohibition. Their focus on robust Zinfandel wines, made from old vines, helped put the region on the map as a top Sonoma wine destination.
The vineyard manager, Duff Bevill, took things up a notch in 1982 by getting cuttings from a pre-Prohibition Zinfandel vineyard near Geyserville. After some TLC, they were able to grow young vines that produced grapes just as intense as those from very old vines. This led to the creation of their Heritage Zinfandel, a blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Carignane that spends 14 months in French oak barrels.
The result is a wine with aromas of dark berries and sweet spices, a full-bodied and smooth texture with balanced tannins, and rich flavors of dark cherry and blackberry with a hint of acidity. This wine pairs beautifully with beef stews or a juicy steak and fries.

Red California The Prisoner Wine Company The Prisoner 2021 wine
You don’t need to decant this wine. The blend of grapes used was inspired by Italian immigrants who first planted vineyards in Napa Valley. It used to be called mixed blacks because it included the darkest grapes in the region.
The wine smells like dark chocolate, cherry, roasted fig, and a hint of clove. It has a mix of red and dark fruit flavors like pomegranate, boysenberry, and raspberry. Aged in French and American oak barrels, with only 30% new, the aging process brings out the fruit flavors, resulting in smooth tannins and a subtle spice, especially in the vanilla finish.
Because of its mix of grapes, this wine is versatile and great for parties or as a gift. It goes well with red meat, sharp cheeses, or on its own. The Prisoner Wine Company sources grapes from top vineyards in California and aims to shake up traditional winemaking by blending unique grapes in new ways.
