Refined Expressions: From Tuscan Powerhouses to Grower Champagne

Fattoria Le Pupille Saffredi

Crafted from 80% Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and Petit Verdot, this iconic Tuscan red from Elisabetta Geppetti’s estate is rich with herbal aromas of rosemary, bay, and thyme. The wine shows vibrant notes of strawberry and cassis balanced by balsamic hints and baking spice.

With chewy tannins and bright acidity, Saffredi is aged for 18 months in new French oak. Its bold character makes it ideal with steak or hearty pasta. Cellar for 20+ years, but decant for an hour if opening sooner.

COS Nero d’Avola

This expressive red showcases Sicily’s signature grape with vibrant redcurrant, plum and subtle volcanic mineral notes. COS ferments the wine using native yeasts and matures it in concrete to preserve purity.

Smooth and rounded, it’s great with tomato-based pasta, Sicilian caponata, or eggplant parmigiana. No need to decant, and it can cellar for up to 7 years.

Fèlsina I Sistri Chardonnay

A rare white from the heart of Chianti, this Chardonnay is fermented and aged in French oak for one year with regular lees stirring. Expect ripe tropical fruit, vanilla, and spice on the nose with a creamy, full-bodied palate.

Perfect with risotto, creamy chicken, or aged cheeses, this elegant white can age up to 10 years and shows Fèlsina’s expert craftsmanship beyond Sangiovese.

Agrapart Minéral Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru

This grower Champagne from Avize is made with Chardonnay from chalky soils, combining minerality with notes of lemon zest, brioche, and fresh pastry. Fermentation in oak and extended lees aging bring depth and creaminess.

Vibrant and precise with a silky mousse and long finish, it’s a superb expression of terroir. Drink chilled now or cellar for up to 14 years.
