White Spanish Bodegas Forjas del Salnes Leirana Genoveva Albarino 2022 wine
No need to aerate it. Forjas del Salnes is a winery in Galicia, established in 2005 by Rodrigo Mendez in collaboration with renowned winemaker Raul Perez. Their main focus has always been on reviving ancient vineyards with lesser-known grape varieties and crafting Albarino wines from mature vines.
Additionally, the winery is dedicated to showcasing the unique terroir of the region, characterized by sandy and granite soils and the influence of the nearby sea, resulting in grapes with exceptional character. Leirana Albarino, an outstanding white wine, was recognized in 2012 as the top wine in the Rias Baixas region by the New York Times. This wine is exclusively made from Albarino grapes, cultivated in sandy, granite-based soils from vineyards that are 40 to 60 years old.

White Spanish Bodegas Forjas del Salnes Leirana O Pradino 2021 wine
You don’t have to aerate it. Bodegas Forjas del Salnas is a collaboration between Rodrigo Mendez and winemaker Raul Perez. Established in 2005 in the Val do SalnĂ©s region of Rias Baixas, the project aims to preserve traditional grape varieties that have disappeared over the years in Galicia.
The winery currently oversees approximately 7.5 hectares of vineyards spread across Meao, Sanxenxo, and Barro, producing some of the most captivating wines in Rias Baixas. Leirana Genoveva is a white wine crafted from 100% organically grown Albario grapes sourced from an 80-year-old seaside vineyard. After fermentation in 750-liter barrels, the wine is aged in oak foudres for 12 months before bottling.
The wine exudes intense aromas of ripe apricot, peach, mandarin, white flowers, and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is fruity, intense, and delightful, with a good level of acidity and a mineral undertone. What sets this wine apart is its remarkable depth and concentration, which is exceptional for an Albario.
It pairs beautifully with seafood, crab, lobster, and Asian rice dishes. Best served chilled at 6 to 8C.
